Healthy Mama Nutrition Program Nutrition is a vital component of a healthy pregnancy and can be one of the key preventative measures of many common pregnancy related conditions. Having a diet that is well balanced and high in the key micronutrients calcium, iron, zinc and folic acid and essential fatty acids will help to ensure the baby is getting the nutrients she needs for healthy growth and development. A well balanced diet can also help minimize potential side effects like nausea, fatigue, constipation, hemorrhoids, leg cramps, cravings and more. Equally as important is the nutrition mom is giving herself and the baby during those sleep deprived early weeks and throughout the nursing period. At this time tactical strategies are needed for quick, healthy go-to foods as leisurely meal preparation - and sometimes even grocery shopping - may require more time than is available. Prenatal or Postpartum Dietary AnalysisThis dietary analysis is a good fit for a healthy pregnant or nursing mama who believes she has a healthy diet and lifestyle and would like to take a closer look at her diet to ensure that she and her baby are getting all of their nutritional needs met through their diet. This service includes an in-kitchen consultation with a follow-up report including possible slight dietary modifications to round out her already healthy diet. $90 individual
Healthy Pregnancy Course and Postpartum Nourishment Workshop OfferingsJen Martin is available to teach healthy pregnancy/postpartum courses throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. The course content can be customized per the audience and attendees and can include hands-on education such as meal preparation, kitchen organization and introducing solids. Currently Jen Martin teaches the Heathy Pregnancy course at Sage Femme Midwifery, a birth center in San Francisco's Mission District. Contact Jen to learn more.
Natural Birth Nourishment During the natural birthing process it is important to stay hydrated and have some calories and nutrients including electrolytes. Jen Martin provides a natural birth nourishment consultation where the pregnant mamas dietary preferences along with birth plan and environment are reviewed and specific foods and eating and drinking strategies are recommended. This consultation can be conducted via a phone conference. $45 individual
